FUN-TIME AT THE AKROPONG SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND

The Akropong School for the Blind was established in the Eastern Province (Eastern Region) of the then Gold Coast (Ghana) on August 6, 1945, to illuminate and alter the outlook and the social image of the blind in the country. The school trains blind children, helps integrate them into mainstream society, and enables them to do something for themselves.

DZORWULU SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR PERSONS (CHILDREN) WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES RECEIVES AID

Since its incorporation in 1970, it is the only government boarding school in Ghana which assists special children with disabilities neglected by their families. The school admits children between the ages of 8 to 36. Kane-em Industries therefore took it upon itself to show these children love with a visit.

KANE-EM ECHOES LOVE AT THE ECHOING HILLS VILLAGE

Our CSR for November 19, 2016 took us to another less endowed group in our society, Echoing Hills Village Ghana to be precise. It is a non-governmental organization which operates a residential care facility for persons with disabilities in Madina-Ogbojo. It provides occupational skills training such as dressmaking, bread baking, bead making, broom manufacturing, crafts, animal husbandry and crop plantation.

NEW LIFE ORPHANAGE INTERNATIONAL GHANA SMILES AGAIN

New Life Orphanage Int. Ghana is an orphanage at Nungua in Accra, Ghana which provides a home to 72 children from slum areas and nomadic/tribal villages. Many of these children are orphans who have experienced extreme poverty. At New Life Orphanage they find a permanent family that believes strongly in preserving the values and traditions of cultures and encourages them to teach it to volunteers and sponsors. It was founded by Nii Afotey Botwe II.

A RAY OF HOPE FOR THE KORLE BU TEACHING HOSPITAL

Korle-Bu (the valley of the Korle lagoon) Hospital was established in 1923 and is the largest teaching hospital in Ghana; it became a teaching hospital in 1962. It is affiliated with the University of Ghana Medical School and now has seventeen separate clinical and diagnostic departments.

ADABRAKA POLYCLINIC RECEIVES AID

Adabraka Polyclinic is one of the primary health delivery centres in Accra. It is also the main place to get immunization for foreign travels. One remarkable thing about this clinic Dr. Ebenezer Oduro-Mensah, Head of Adabraka Polyclinic, said was that a pregnancy school has been opened to educate pregnant women on how to handle themselves during pregnancies.

KANE-EM DONATES TO KPONE HEALTH CENTRE

Kane-Em Industries Limited made a donation to the Kpone Health Centre, a suburb of Tema. Since Kane-em’s annex is in this jurisdiction and as the saying goes “Brighten the corner where you are” management decided to visit the Kpone Health Center. Items donated to the clinic were bags of rice, sugar, soft drinks, biscuits, canned fish, water and Kane-em’s products made up of bowls, dolls and balls for those on admission and patients at the OPD (Outpatients Department).
